After back to back competitions over the weekend I headed back down to Surrey for some boat riding with Ultrasport EU and Liquid Force team rider Lee Debuse. From Monday to Thursday I had at least three, 15 minute sets a day behind Lee's Axis Wake boat. The wake behind this boat is awesome and together with Lee's coaching I managed to get all of my old tricks back and 3 new tricks within the first two days. I am super excited to get back down to JBski & LDBWakeschool this summer, thanks again to Lee, the staff at JBski and my parents for an awesome few days!
After the AOD last Saturday I headed back to Cambridgeshire for Hannam's Wake Hub's Toe 2 Tow system 2.0 and pool gap competition. Ben and Terry Hannam have a unique set up, having 2 system 2.0's running on purpose dug separate lakes and a pool gap which can be used by a winch. There were 4 riders in Open Women and we all had a qualifying and final heat on the system 2.0 then two of us went on to ride the pool gap. I'd never used a winch before or hit a pool gap and I must admit I was quite scared haha but it was good fun. I was stoked to be placed 1st in Open Women at the end of the day! Thank you to Ben, Terry, Steve and Jess for organising such a good day!
Last Saturday was stop 2 of the AOD boat tour at Quayside Wake & Ski in Mytchett, Surrey. This was my first competition on my new boat board, LF Wing grind with LF Shane bindings. The weather and conditions were tough on the day but I managed to be placed 1st in the Junior Women category. Thanks to Owen McCormack for the photos.
So, last weekend I entered the Industry Wake Parks Grass Roots tour Stop 5 at Just Wake, Tattershall. Just Wake have a sweet setup with my favourite obstacle of theirs being the Unit quarter pipe, it's such a unique obstacle and is an alternative way to go round the corner. Not only was I stoked to win open women I was also so excited about the fact I had won a wildcard ticket to compete on the pool gap at Wakestock! Big thanks to Just Wake and everyone involved for putting on a great day! Now for Wakestock... |
