2013 has been amazing for me. The year kicked off for me when I went to hipnotics cable park, Turkey for 10 days at easter for a bit of sun and to start riding properly again as we’d had a long harsh British winter!
After hipnotics I was back for a few days and had my first boat set in 9 months at LDBwakeschool. That weekend I entered my first competition of the year, spring into season at JBski which was a nice day but still freezing!
Ultrasport EU, Liquid Force and Obrien Wakeboards then hosted a demo day at Box End park with the team and provided a load of demo boards and bindings to try which was awesome - this was when I decided the Liquid Force Melissa Hybrid was my fave cable board and the Liquid Force Wing was a perfect boat board for me!

The following weekend was my first boat competition of the year, stop 1 of the AOD tour and I was pretty nervous as I’d only had 2 sets beforehand but was excited to see everyone again and get back into events after the winter.
May, it was Ride Leisure’s turn to host a Liquid Force and O’brien wakeboards demo day with their brand new Super Air Nautique 210 kicking up a mighty fine wake for people to demo the 2013 boards on! The Ultrasport EU team was also in for a treat with some hovercraft and off road action! This was an awesome day thank you to Ride Leisure and Ultrasport EU for hosting it!
By the end of May I had finished my GCSE’s and was free from school for 3 months! During this time I entered the Industry Wake Parks Grass Roots Tour stop 5 and won a wildcard ticket to Wakestock Rail Europeans which I was super excited about!
Before I knew it, AOD Boat Stop 2 at Quayside had come around and I took another win on the tour. Straight after the AOD I headed back home to Cambridge with the Pearson family for Hannam’s Wake Hub Toe 2 Toe system 2.0 competition which was an awesome way to end the hectic weekend.
The weather then picked up and I spent a week down at LDBwakeschool/JBski in Surrey getting back into boat riding again, practicing for the Nationals. The UK boat nationals soon came around and I was stoked to stick all my runs in the competition to then take the title as UK National Boat Wakeboard Champion :). Also, at the nationals I was chosen to ride in the boat competition at Wakestock which meant I had to miss my school prom but...I’m glad I chose Wakestock!
Wakestock is a wakeboarding event alongside a music festival hosted in Abersoch, Wales and I couldn’t believe that I was going to ride the cable event there let alone the boat as it’s an event I had always wanted to go to!
I was back home for a couple of weeks to practice for the UK Cable Nationals where I got 2nd which I was super pleased about!
The BWSW then organised a boat training camp at LDBwakeschool a week before we flew out to Wieniawa, Poland for the IWWF Boat Wakeboard European & African Championships.
A big thank you to BWSW for organising these Cable & Boat Wakeboard camps, they have been so beneficial alongside off water training programmes and I couldn’t of done as well as I have this year without them!
It was then time for Poland. After getting through to the 3 man final the long way round, I was then first off of the dock, stuck my run and ended up winning to become the 2013 IWWF Boat Wakeboard European Junior ladies Champion. It was a dream come true. Thank you so much to BWSW, LDB, my parents and my sponsors Sports Aid, Liquid Force and Ride Leisure for supporting me and helping me to get where I am.
I also won a bronze medal in the open ladies wakeskate boat European championships haha!

I had an amazing time in Poland with Team GB and everyone, but the day after returning it was back to JBski where I had the BWSW Cable wakeboarding training camp in preparation for the Cable Europeans in Sweden!
I had already been to Sweden before for the IWWF Boat Wakeboard Europeans in 2010 before the cable was built so I couldn’t wait to go back and see how it had changed. I really enjoyed being with the GB cable team and was so stoked to win the silver medal in junior ladies!
Team GB also won silver overall! Thank you so much to BWSW, CK, Ralph and Clare for the help on this trip, I couldn’t of done as well as I did without the support and help given this year from everyone!

So... My 3 month summer break from school was then over and I returned to sixth form to start my A levels. During September I entered the 3rd Stop of the AOD boat tour taking the title again and soon after there was the charity cable competition, ‘Clothes for Kids’ at JBski. Thank you to Sophie and JBSki for organising this charity competition, it was an awesome day and provided lots of support for the chosen charity.
The Ryan & Tony Birch Memorial Competition was hosted back at Chaswater again this year with the Super Air Nautique G23 kicking up an insane wake for everyone who had gathered together in memory of Ryan & Tony Birch.
Ropes & Wires cable and boat team event hosted at Box End Park is always a great end of year event where you ride with your team mates to accumulate overall points instead of riding against them. This year I was in a team with Megan Barker, Emily Heffernan and Jules Haley = Team Mobychicks! It was a sweet weekend with LF and O’brien demo products available and some sweet LTD edition LF Ropes & Wires graphic boards up for grabs!
AOD Boat Tour stop 4 at Quayside Wake & Ski was the last stop of the tour where I was pleased to win overall in junior ladies!
Last but not least, I was honoured to be invited to the Sports Aid Athlete Workshop in the Copper Box, London's Olympic Park with Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge! It was an incredibly useful day meeting other athletes from different sports, participating in different sports and having mentoring and nutrition workshops with olympic athletes.
I’ve had such a crazy year and enjoyed every minute! I’d like to say thanks again to everyone who has helped me out! British Waterski & Wakeboard Federation, Sport England, Sports Aid, CK, LDB, Kev & Diana and my parents have made this possible for me! Also to my sponsors Ultra Sport/Liquid Force for helping me with your awesome boards, Ride Leisure for help with riding behind your beast of a nautique, Wake Mafia for the threads and Box End Park for help with riding on the cable!
